Τips for choosing a new mattress

Are you thinking of changing your mattress and you don’t know what to consider when choosing your new one?

Matt&More is here to give you some tips…

Restless sleep, back and waist pain,
insomnia and a sense of tiredness can
be due to a wrong sleeping mattress.
An inappropriate layer may also be the cause of allergies,
due to the materials included.
It is important, therefore, that your new mattress satisfies
all the needs of your body.

Orthopedic or Anatomic?

The appropriate mattress is made of elastic materials that form the shape of the body,to give you the proper support. Generally, the anatomic mattresses are made of Pocket Springs, allowing the mattress to take the shape of our body easily, while the orthopedic ones from Bonnell springs support the spine, preventing it from curving. Also, very important is the fabric and its quality, ensuring a longer life and performance as well as a soft finish to the mattress.

That’s why we use innovative, hypoallergenic and antibacterial certified fabrics such as Bamboo fabric, Organic Cotton and Merino Wool to provide you with a complete sense of comfort and luxury.

Hard or Soft?

As each of us has different preferences, the perfect mattress differs from person to person. Above all, it must provide support and rest to all the joints and muscles as much as possible so that sleep is comfortable and more qualitative. Therefore, the spine should be in a straight position and the pressure from the shoulder zones should be absorbed. It is also important that the neck is supported and not disturbed to achieve proper blood circulation. So, a very hard or very soft mattress is just as inappropriate. Generally semi-hard mattresses are indicated for those who sleep pronely, hard ones for those who sleep supinely and soft mattresses to those sleeping on the side.

MEMORY FOAM

Memory Foam takes the form of the body depending on heat and pressure , evenly distributing body weight. Then it returns to its original shape after the pressure is removed, and acts as a mold of your body and absorbs your weight, so as to reduce the pressure on your muscles. Feeling is the same at every part of your body. It is usually denser than an ordinary mattress foam but it is often a good compromise between the comfort of a soft mattress and the support of a stable base.

MEMORY BLUE GEL

If your mattress or room is not cool enough, your sleep is interrupted and your night becomes tiring. Using a mattress with Memory Blue Gel, your sleeping experience is improved as it keeps your mattress in a stable temperature all night long. Memory Blue Gel does not trap heat like a common mattress of Memory Foam as they are made by using open cell technology that helps in the air circulation and keeps your mattress cool. It is also suitable for any age as it contains no harmful substances and can be used either as a child’s mattress or for the elderly.

LATEX

Natural Latex is comes from the tropical tree, Hevea Brasiliensis, which is grown in South-East Asia, parts of Africa and South America. Latex is a breathable product that is extremely durable. It also recovers its original shape very easily and does lose its height.

In general, the mattress should:

  • adapt the shape of the body and especially the spines
  • distribute the pressure evenly across the body
  • decrease body movement and improve the quality of sleep
  • reduce the couple’s movement from one member to another
  • provide perimeter support.
